Opencast 11.8

Hello Everyone,

It is my pleasure to announce that Opencast 11.8 has been released

On this new monthly release, there are only one bug fix related to users being removed from groups when not having the primary group role and some amends to the changelog from the previous 11.7 release.

Opencast 11.7

Hi everyone,
it is my pleasure to announce that Opencast 11.7 has been released

This version come with various bug fixes and improvements, some of them are,

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixes the issue that users can pass URLs from other tenants to the ingest service, which will check only against the other organization but not against the one currently active. This allows users to easily ingest media from other tenants.
  • Fix missing tags when encoding multiple qualities with the encode WOH
  • Fix metadata not being shown in editor.

Enhancements:

  • Now it is possible to edit Metadata within the editor
  • Make creation of default external API group configurable
  • Check if user can be loaded before starting a workflow

It is my pleasure to announce that Opencast 11.6 has been released:

This new release comes with new fixes and features, the most important are:

BUG FIXES

  • Fixes Vosk module.
  • Stalling boot of services due to workflows definitions failed to load.
  • userdirectory-brightspace module works again with the latest version of Brightspace API.

NEW FEATURES, UPDATES

  • Update editor studio to their latest release.
  • The Google Speech Transcription Service now offers options to enable punctuations for transcription and to choose the transcription model to use.
  • Paella is updated to version 6.5.6, bringing back the fixes that were lost due to the rollback to 6.4.4 from the previous version.
  • Added configuration option to control if events without series are added to an auto generated CA series during ingest.

Hi everyone,

It is my pleasure to announce that Opencast 11.5 has been released:

This new release comes with several fixes and new features, the most important are:

Bug Fixes

  • Downgrades Paella from 6.5.5 to 6.4.4 to fix HLS videos not loading on slow connections.
  • Additional fixes concern issues with the admin UI configuration.
  • Exceptions when signing publication URLs.
  • Problems in the Admin UI when creating a series with an empty file.
  • Issues with Safari when using the editor.

New features, updates

  • New password strenght indicator
  • Stand-Alone editor updated to version 2022-03-22
  • New configurations options for ElasticSearch have been added.
  • Traditional chinese translations are back.
