University of California Berkeley

UC Berkeley is a leading producer and distributor of high quality university lecture video and audio content, with its roots originating as early as 1995. Currently, lecture content is openly available, using webcast.berkeley.edu, iTunes University and YouTube for distribution. In August 2008, Berkeley launched a re-engineered system that supports capture, production and distribution of lecture media. UC Berkeley is the recipient of the original grants from the Hewlett and Mellon foundations that supported initial development of the Opencast Matterhorn project.
