Earlier this month, the 5 newly-elected members of the Opencast board convened to select additional members to join the board. We are pleased to announce the addition of three new appointed members to the board:
- Brian O'Hagan of Columbia University
Brian has been a committed member to the Opencast community since its inception, and holds deep expertise in pedagogical use of media in higher education through his work at the Center for New Media Teaching and Learning. - Kim Thanos of Thanos Consulting
Kim became involved in Opencast earlier this year as a consultant and facilitator of the Opencast Matterhorn Sustainability meeting. She brings a wealth of expertise in strategic planning around open source technology and strategy planning in higher education.
Additionally, the Matterhorn committers voted and select one person to represent the committers as a member of the board. We are please to have the elected committer join the board:
- Christopher Brooks of the University of Saskatchewan
Chris has been a member of the Opencast board since it began, and is generally revered among the developers as a leader and mentor in project development and planning.
With the full board in place, the board selected a chair and vice-chair, Mara Hancock and Olaf Schulte, respectively. Your full Opencast board members for 2012 are:
